The roller lever valves are used for mechanical position sensing within machine automation, the valve is operated by the movement of machine parts which strike the roller lever in-turn causing the valve to operate. The roller wheel is sited at the end of the lever arm which rotates in the direction of the moving part; this reduces the wear and tear of both the pneumatic roller lever valve and the moving machine part, for this reason they are a preferred mechanical method of sensing.
